Nyabitaba Hut to John Matte Hut

After breakfast, leave Nyabitaba Hut and continue toward John Matte Hut. The route initially passes through forest before entering bamboo and higher vegetation zones as you gain elevation. Cross the area around Kurt Shaffer Bridge and continue along the mountain trail toward higher terrain. The route includes rocky, muddy and sometimes slippery sections, particularly during wet conditions. Continue through areas of giant heather and alpine vegetation while enjoying the surrounding mountain environment. Depending on weather conditions, views toward Mount Stanley and Mount Speke may be visible. Reach John Matte Hut at approximately 3,414 metres, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

John Matte Hut to Bujuku Hut

After breakfast, continue your trek from John Matte Hut toward Bujuku Hut. The trail descends to the Bujuku River before entering the challenging Bigo Bog. Carefully cross the boggy terrain with assistance from your guide and support crew. Continue toward Bujuku Lake, surrounded by dramatic high-altitude mountain scenery. From Bujuku Lake, continue climbing toward Bujuku Hut at approximately 3,962 metres. Depending on weather conditions, you may enjoy views toward Mount Baker and Mount Stanley. Arrive at Bujuku Hut, settle in, enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Bujuku Hut to Kitandara Hut

After breakfast, leave Bujuku Hut and continue toward the higher sections of the Central Circuit. The trail involves challenging terrain as you climb toward Scott-Elliot Pass at approximately 4,372 metres. Continue carefully through the alpine environment while enjoying the spectacular mountain scenery. After crossing the higher section of the route, begin the descent toward the Kitandara Valley. Continue toward Kitandara Hut at approximately 4,023 metres, where you will have dinner and spend the night. Note: Approximately 4,430 metres refers to Elena Hut on Mount Stanley, rather than Kitandara Hut.

Kitandara Hut to Guy Yeoman Hut

After breakfast, begin your descent from Kitandara Hut toward Guy Yeoman Hut. The route crosses rugged mountain terrain with changing vegetation and impressive views across the Rwenzori landscape.Continue through the Freshfield Pass area before gradually descending toward lower elevations. Some sections may be wet, muddy or slippery, so follow your guide's instructions and maintain a controlled pace.

Reach Guy Yeoman Hut at approximately 3,261 metres. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the mountain hut.

Guy Yeoman Hut to Nyabitaba Hut to Kampala

After breakfast, begin your final descent from Guy Yeoman Hut. Follow the trail down through the changing mountain vegetation and continue through challenging sections around Kichuchu before crossing the Mubuku River. Continue toward Nyabitaba and complete the final section of the Central Circuit. Descend toward Nyakalengija, meet your private transfer vehicle and begin the journey back to Kampala. Arrive in Kampala later in the day, marking the end of your 6-Day Private Mid-Range Rwenzori Trekking Tour from Kampala, Uganda, Africa During AFCON 2027. The final descent from Guy Yeoman toward the trailhead can take approximately 7–8 hours depending on conditions and trekking pace.
