Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the chimpanzee tracking center for registration and briefing. Begin your guided forest trek in search of habituated chimpanzees. Kibale National Park is one of Uganda's major chimpanzee tracking destinations, and UWA states that chimpanzee tracking and habituation activities take place throughout the year. Walk through the forest with your assigned guides and trackers while observing chimpanzees and other forest species. Depending on forest conditions and animal movement, you may also encounter monkeys, birds and other wildlife. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure or enjoy an optional local activity according to your confirmed package. Dinner and overnight at your mid-range accommodation.

Kibale National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart from Kibale and travel toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy the changing landscapes as the forest environment gives way to open savannah and wetland areas. Upon arrival, continue with a private afternoon game drive, depending on your arrival time and park conditions. Explore selected wildlife areas in search of elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, warthogs and other species.

Queen Elizabeth's Kasenyi area is known for open grassland savannah and opportunities to see elephants, buffaloes, lions and leopards.

Continue to your mid-range lodge for dinner and overnight.

Full Day Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, set out for a full day of private wildlife viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Explore the park with your experienced driver-guide while searching for large mammals, predators and birdlife.Depending on the final schedule, enjoy a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, where the waterways and shorelines provide opportunities to observe hippos, buffaloes, elephants, waterbirds and other wildlife. Continue with additional game viewing in suitable areas before returning to your lodge in the evening. Dinner and overnight at your mid-range accommodation.

Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park and continue toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Travel through southwestern Uganda's scenic countryside, passing villages, cultivated areas and mountainous landscapes. Depending on the confirmed gorilla trekking sector, the route and overnight location may be adjusted. Bwindi has four main trekking sectors: Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo, and accommodation is best selected according to the sector where the gorilla permit is confirmed. Arrive at your mid-range lodge and spend the afternoon relaxing. Your safari guide will provide a briefing about the next day's gorilla trekking activity and help you prepare your personal equipment. Enjoy dinner and overnight.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the designated gorilla trekking meeting point for registration and briefing. Join the official gorilla trekking activity accompanied by authorized guides and trackers. Begin the trek through Bwindi's dense mountain forest while searching for your assigned habituated gorilla family. UWA states that gorilla treks in Bwindi can take approximately 2 to 7 hours, depending on the location and movement of the gorilla family, with a permitted viewing period after the group is located. Once the gorillas are located, enjoy the permitted viewing experience and take photographs according to park regulations. The forest environment also provides opportunities to observe other plant and animal species during the trek. After completing the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Spend the evening recovering from the trek and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Dinner and overnight at your mid-range lodge.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Kampala

After breakfast, begin your journey from Bwindi back toward Kampala. Travel through the changing scenery of southwestern and central Uganda, with suitable rest and lunch stops along the way. Continue to Kampala and arrive later in the day. Your private vehicle and driver-guide will drop you at your preferred hotel or another agreed location, marking the end of your 7-Day Private Mid-Range Chimpanzee and Gorilla Trekking Big Five Safari from Kampala, Uganda, Africa During AFCON 2027.
