After breakfast, begin your trek from Horombo Hut toward Kibo Hut, crossing the alpine desert between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The landscape becomes increasingly dry and rocky as you approach the higher elevations of Mount Kilimanjaro. Maintain a slow, steady pace and follow your guide’s instructions to conserve energy. Upon arrival at Kibo Hut, enjoy an early dinner, organize your summit equipment, and get some rest before the challenging summit attempt, which usually begins around midnight.
