Arusha to Moshi
When you arrive in Arusha, your tour representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to Moshi, a picturesque town situated at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Along the way, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of vast plantations and traditional Tanzanian villages. After checking into your hotel, you’ll have some time to unwind and prepare for your upcoming adventure. In the evening, a detailed briefing will take place where you’ll meet your knowledgeable guides and porters. They will cover essential trek information, perform an equipment inspection, and discuss safety measures. You’ll also be informed about the support facilities provided during the climb, including oxygen tanks, private toilets, and wash tents, to ensure your comfort and hygiene throughout the trek.

Upon arrival at Simba Camp, your wash tents will be set up for you to freshen up ahead of dinner. For your comfort and hygiene, private toilets will be available, along with oxygen tanks as a precaution against altitude sickness.

Third Cave Camp – Kibo Huts

Early in the morning, after leaving the Third Cave, you’ll leave the semi-desert zone behind and enter the Alpine Desert as you begin the final stage of your climb. Today’s trek takes you to the Kibo Huts, situated just below the Kibo crater wall. Here, you’ll connect with the Marangu Route, which leads to the summit. Before turning in around 7 PM, you’ll get your gear ready by changing batteries in your headlamp and camera, then rest up for the upcoming summit attempt. Wash tents will be available for freshening up, and private toilets offer additional comfort. A short acclimatization walk is advised before dinner, and oxygen support will be provided if necessary.
Kibo Huts - Uhuru Peak Summit - Horombo Huts

You’ll ascend winding switchbacks over loose scree lying between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers, building excitement as you go. Upon reaching Stella Point, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking sunrise before making the final snowy ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating, taking photos, and soaking in the achievement, the descent begins. A stop at Kibo Hut provides a short rest and lunch before continuing down to Horombo Huts. Using trekking poles and gaiters is advisable to handle the loose gravel terrain. At Horombo, you’ll find well-earned rest and wash tents to freshen up before dinner and your last night on the mountain.

Due to the warmer weather, expect the trail to be wet, muddy, and steep—so gaiters and trekking poles are highly recommended. A vehicle will be waiting at the gate to drive you back to your hotel in Moshi (about 45 minutes), where you can enjoy a refreshing hot shower, a hearty dinner, and a joyous celebration!
