The climb may be muddy and slippery at the lower altitudes, thus it is crucial to utilize gaiters and trekking poles. Following a brief trek on Kilimanjaro from the Machame gate, you will reach Machame Camp.

In the early hours of the morning, typically starting at 2 a.m., you will commence your final ascent towards the summit, navigating between the Reimann and Reitzel glaciers. This climb takes you from the northwest, ascending through steep scree to reach Stella Point, which is located near the crater rim. This segment of the journey is the most physically and mentally challenging of the entire trail. Upon reaching Stella Point, you will have a brief opportunity to rest and will be rewarded with a stunning sunrise. If you climb at an accelerated pace, you may even witness the sunrise from the Uhuru Peak trail itself. From Stella Point, the final hour-long ascent to the Uhuru Peak summit may involve snowy conditions, depending on the weather. Arriving at the Uhuru Peak summit signifies your achievement of reaching the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro! Following your time at the Uhuru Peak summit, your descent begins directly down to Mweka Camp, with a planned stop at Barafu Camp for lunch. Utilizing Kilimanjaro trekking poles and gaiters can be beneficial for navigating the loose gravel during your descent
