Golden Monkey Trekking - Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Following an early breakfast, you will embark on a journey to the Mgahinga gorilla national park for the golden monkey tracking experience. These monkeys are predominantly located in the bamboo forests that line the lower slopes of the volcanoes. They are quite active in the bamboo canopy, where your guides will mimic their calls to help you follow the group. With only a limited number remaining globally, the Golden Monkey can be found in the foothills of the volcanic mountains of Mgahinga National Park in Uganda and in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Recognizable by their bright golden bodies, cheeks, and tails, contrasted by black limbs, crowns, and tail ends, these playful primates provide a delightful viewing experience.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today. enjoy surely. After breakfast, proceed for the morning briefing before enjoying the highlight of the trip- Gorilla trekking, which may last the entire day. We trek through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a guide and trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, located in south western Uganda on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, is considered the most diverse forest in Uganda.The park contains almost one half of the world’s population of the endangered Mountain Gorilla, making it an extremely valuable conservation site. Bwindi is also home to several endangered bird species with very limited ranges, and acts as an important catchment area for many rivers, supplying water for agriculture in the surrounding region.

Entebbe to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)

We shall have an early morning breakfast at the hotel before embarking on our 7 hour journey to Entebbe. Along the way, we shall be stopping briefly at the Equator crossing point, where we take photographs and perhaps buy some souvenirs and crafts. Then transfer to Airport for your flight to Tanzania. Upon arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) your guide takes you straight to your hotel at your lodge where he can you the short brief on your upcoming adventure also you can relax and take in the African atmosphere.

Lemosho Gate to Forest Camp

Elevation (ft): 7,800ft to 9,500ft

Distance: 6 km

Hiking Time: 3-4 hours

Habitat: Rain Forest

We leave Moshi for Lemosho Gate, which takes approximately 4 hours, where you will complete the necessary entry formalities. Following this, we drive to the Lemosho trailhead, which takes another hour to reach. Upon our arrival at the trailhead, we will have lunch before beginning our hike through the pristine forest that leads to the first campsite.

Forest Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Elevation (ft): 9,500ft to 11,500ft

Distance: 8 km

Hiking Time: 5-6 hours

Habitat: Moorland

We proceed along the trail that takes us out of the forest and into a savannah characterized by tall grasses, heather, and volcanic rocks adorned with lichen. As we climb through the verdant rolling hills and cross multiple streams, we will reach the Shira Ridge before gently descending to Shira 1 Camp. The view of Kibo from across the plateau is truly spectacular.

Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Elevation (ft): 11,500ft to 13,800 ft

Distance: 14 km

Hiking Time: 5-7 hours

Habitat: Moorland

We spend an entire day exploring the Shira plateau. The trek is a gentle walk eastward towards the glacier-capped peak of Kibo, traversing the plateau that leads us to Shira 2 camp, situated on moorland meadows beside a stream. Shira is recognized as one of the highest plateaus on the planet.

Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

Elevation (ft): 13,800ft to 13,000ft

Distance: 7 km

Hiking Time: 4-6 hours

Habitat: Semi Desert

From the Shira Plateau, we advance eastward up a ridge, passing the junction that leads towards the peak of Kibo. As we progress, our path shifts to the South East, directing us towards the Lava Tower, known as the “Shark’s Tooth.” Shortly after reaching the tower, we encounter the second junction that leads us up to the Arrow Glacier at an elevation of 16,000ft. We then descend to the Barranco Hut, located at 13,000ft. Here, we take a break, enjoy dinner, and spend the night. Although we conclude the day at the same elevation as we began, this day is crucial for acclimatization and will assist your body in preparing for the summit day.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Elevation (ft): 13,000ft to 15,000ft

Distance: 9km

Hiking Time: 8-10 hours

Habitat: Alpine Desert

After breakfast, we depart from Barranco and continue along a steep ridge, passing the Barranco Wall, towards the Karanga Valley campsite. Subsequently, we leave Karanga and reach the junction that connects with the Mweka Trail. We then ascend to the Barafu Camp. At this juncture, you will have completed the South Circuit, which provides views of the summit from various perspectives. Here, we establish our camp, rest, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the summit day. The two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo are visible from this location.

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak Summit, Descend to Mweka Camp

Elevation (ft): 15,290ft to 19,345ft (and down to 10,000ft)

Distance: 5 km ascent / 12 km descent

Hiking Time: 7-8 hours ascent / 4-6 hours descent

Habitat: Arctic

In the early hours of the morning (between midnight and 2am), we proceed towards the summit, You will head in a northwesterly direction, ascending through challenging scree towards Stella Point on the crater rim. From Stella Point, you may encounter snow throughout the one-hour ascent to the summit. Upon reaching Uhuru Peak, you will have attained the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and in Africa. Those who hike faster may witness the sunrise from the summit. Following our time at the summit, we will begin our descent directly to the Mweka Camp, with a lunch stop at Barafu.

Mweka Camp to Moshi

Elevation (ft): 10,000ft to 5,400ft

Distance: 10 km

Hiking Time: 3-4 hours

Habitat: Rain Forest

After breakfast, we will continue our descent to the Mweka Gate to collect your summit certificates. At lower elevations, conditions may be wet and muddy, so gaiters and trekking poles will be beneficial. Wearing shorts and t-shirts should suffice (however, keep rain gear and warmer clothing accessible). From the gate, you will proceed for another hour to Mweka Village. A vehicle will be waiting for you at Mweka Village to transport you back to your hotel in Moshi, where you will spend the night at the you hotel on a bed and breakfast meal plan.

Full Day of Relaxation - Transfer to Arusha

Today is designated as a day of relaxation at your hotel, allowing you plenty of time to unwind and take advantage of the amenities available. At the scheduled time, you will be transported to your hotel in Arusha, where your guide will greet you for a briefing regarding the forthcoming safari. You will spend the night at your hotel, with a meal plan that includes bed and breakfast.

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

You will set off from Arusha in the morning and travel to Tarangire National Park, where you will witness the vastness of the deserted termite mounds and the ancient baobab trees. The impressive herds of African elephants dominate the golden savannah, and the distinctive calls of the yellow-collared lovebird can be heard from a distance. The diverse wildlife inhabiting the picturesque landscape of Tarangire includes lions, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetahs, mongooses, buffaloes, and baboons. You will spend your first night at your lodge, with a delightful dinner served in the evening.

Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti National Park

We will depart for Serengeti National Park after you have enjoyed your delicious breakfast. If fortune smiles upon you, you may spot some wildlife along the way as we travel along the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. The Serengeti, Tanzania\'s oldest and most popular national park, is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and has recently been recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is famous for the annual migration of herds and its ever-expanding wildlife population. We will have a picnic lunch on one of the kopjes (rock outcroppings) before continuing our game drive deeper into the park. Following the game drive, we will head to the Serengeti, where you will have access to your lodge and a delicious meal.

Full Day Game Drive Safari in Serengeti National Park

After a hearty breakfast, you will proceed into the expansive plains of the stunning Serengeti, which is home to a wide variety of hundreds of animal and bird species. Every moment of today’s journey will engage your senses; your eyes will be vigilant for each new sighting, while your ears will indulge in the calls, screeches, and buzz of life – or the profound, quiet stillness of the hot midday sun. The day’s pleasures will conclude with a freshly prepared and delightful dinner under the stars.

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

We will commence our day with an early morning game drive in the central Serengeti. The savannah is a vibrant landscape, and the air is filled with the melodies created by the birds as the rejuvenated sunlight begins to illuminate the entire area. Your guide will examine the tracks on the ground to track down predators. We will journey to the Comprehensive area located near the crater\'s rim. You will be provided with dinner and adequate lodge.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

We will set out early in the morning for the Ngorongoro Crater, as dawn offers the best chance to spot wildlife, particularly members of the famous “Big Five.” This remarkable group includes Africa’s most powerful animals—the mighty elephant, stealthy leopard, fierce lion, charging rhino, and resilient buffalo. The morning will be spent on a relaxed game drive, followed by a picnic lunch beside a hippo-filled pond, where we can enjoy our snacks while watching these massive creatures splash and play. Ngorongoro Crater is a natural wonder, formed millions of years ago when a towering volcano erupted and collapsed, creating an intact caldera unlike any other in the world. Its steep walls provide a unique sanctuary where countless species thrive. Visitors can expect to encounter zebra, wildebeest, hippos, and playful hyenas, along with flocks of elegant flamingos resting at Soda Lake. Overhead, vultures and hawks soar in search of carrion, while storks, ibis, and cranes gather along the water’s edge. After lunch, our game drive will conclude, and we will continue our journey to Arusha.

Arusha to Zanzibar

On this day, after breakfast at your hotel in Arusha our driver will pick you up and transfer you direct to the Airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrive you will meet with your driver at the Airport for the transfer to your Hotel. He will be showing your names. Then transfer to your hotel where you can relax and your guide will give the full detailed briefing the upcoming tours in Zanzibar.

This will be full day sailing around mangroves and snorkeling along Menai bay, which is one of the best coral reefs in Zanzibar, Visiting Kwale Island, Sandbank relaxing, Swimming & Snorkeling.
