Nairobi to Tanzania – Arrival in Moshi
After breakfast, prepare for your journey from Nairobi to Tanzania. The flight from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro is not included in the tour price. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to Platinum Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel in Moshi. After checking in, you will meet your mountain guide for a briefing and equipment check. This is an opportunity to discuss the upcoming mountain arrangements, confirm the required equipment, and arrange rental of any missing mountain gear if necessary.

Materuni Waterfalls and Cultural Tour
After breakfast, depart Moshi at approximately 8:00 AM and travel to Materuni Village, located at around 1,800 metres above sea level on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Begin the experience with a visit to a local coffee farm. Here, you will learn about the traditional coffee process, from growing and harvesting the beans to processing, roasting, and preparing the final drink. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a traditional Chagga coffee preparation experience. After the coffee experience, begin an approximately 45-minute hike through the surrounding hills and valleys towards Materuni Waterfalls. Along the route, your local guide will introduce you to different plants and explain how some are traditionally used for food and natural medicine. At the waterfall, take time to appreciate the natural surroundings before returning to Materuni and then continuing back to Moshi.

Serval Wildlife Sanctuary – Moshi to Sanya Juu and Back
After breakfast, depart Moshi and travel towards Sanya Juu for a visit to Serval Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary visit lasts approximately 1 hour, giving you time to observe the animals, take photographs, and learn more about conservation efforts. Depending on the experience and animal activity during your visit, you may see African lions, colobus monkeys, Masai giraffes, bat-eared foxes, elands, ostriches, blue monkeys, and velvet monkeys. The visit offers a closer look at these animals in a carefully managed environment while providing an opportunity to learn about conservation and responsible interaction with nature. After completing the one-hour visit, begin the journey back to Moshi and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

After breakfast, depart Moshi for a scenic drive of approximately 2.5 hours along the slopes of West Kilimanjaro towards the Maasai communities near Tingatinga. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by members of the Maasai community and the village chief. Begin a guided walk through the village and learn about traditional Maasai culture, history, family life, customs, and daily activities. During the visit, enjoy traditional chai prepared over a wood fire and learn more about the preparation of local food. After breakfast, depart for a guided exploration of Stone Town, the historic heart of Zanzibar. The guided Stone Town tour takes approximately 3 hours and introduces you to important historical and cultural landmarks. Visit the Anglican Cathedral and former slave market area, Sultan's Palace, Tip Tip's House, Old Arab Fort, Forodhani Gardens, and some of Zanzibar's famous carved doors. You will also have an opportunity to see local Henna art and explore the fruit and vegetable market. After the Stone Town experience, continue with a short drive of approximately 15 minutes to a spice plantation. Spend at least 3 hours at the plantation learning about Zanzibar's famous spices, including cinnamon, pepper, vanilla, and other plants. Learn how these spices are grown, harvested, prepared, and traditionally used. There will also be time to purchase locally produced spices, soaps, and creams. A traditional weaving demonstration forms part of the cultural experience before you return to Nungwi.
