Experience our top-rated 5-day group budget Kilimanjaro climb along the Marangu Route, starting from Moshi, Tanzania. Known as the "Coca-Cola" route, Marangu is the oldest and most established trail on Kilimanjaro. It’s the only route offering dormitory-style huts, with 60 beds each at Mandara and Kibo Huts, and 120 at Horombo Hut. While it's considered the easiest path due to its gentle slope. The trail is less scenic and often busier, as both ascent and descent follow the same route.

Your summit push begins in the early hours of the morning—between midnight and 2 a.m.—as you tackle a steep path of loose scree or snow leading to Gilman’s Point on the crater rim. From there, the journey continues to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, where stunning views await. Don’t forget to take a photo at the summit to mark your accomplishment. The descent begins soon after, with a stop at Kibo for lunch and a brief rest, followed by the trek down to Horombo Camp. This stretch starts in total darkness, so headlamps or flashlights are essential. Temperatures will be extremely cold until you begin descending, so dress in all your warm layers. This is the most challenging part of the entire climb, featuring many switchbacks. Maintaining a slow, steady pace—pole pole—and a strong mindset will be key to reaching the summit.
