Ngorongoro Crater and Back to Arusha
We will set out for the Ngorongoro Crater early in the morning, the best time to witness wildlife activity and increase the chances of spotting the famous “Big Five.” This iconic group includes Africa’s most powerful animals: the fierce lion, the towering elephant, the elusive leopard, the formidable rhino, and the resilient buffalo. Our morning will be spent on a relaxed game drive, followed by a picnic lunch beside a hippo pool, where we can watch these massive creatures cooling off and splashing in the water.
The Ngorongoro Crater is a natural wonder, formed millions of years ago when a giant volcano erupted and collapsed, leaving behind an intact caldera unlike any other in the world. Its high walls create a sheltered sanctuary for diverse wildlife. During the game drive, we are likely to see zebra, wildebeest, hippos, and playful hyenas, while flamingos grace the shores of Soda Lake and birds of prey such as hawks and vultures soar overhead. Storks, cranes, and ibis also thrive around the wetlands, adding to the crater’s vibrant birdlife.
After lunch, we will continue our journey toward Arusha, and end of the safari.
