Drive approximately 3 hours to Lemosho Gate, passing scenic hills, coffee plantations, and local villages. Complete registration formalities and start your trek along the rainforest trail. Today is one of the most scenic days. Trek 7 km in 3–4 hours to Shira I Camp, enjoy lunch and rest, then continue 9 km over 4–5 hours across the Shira Plateau, a stunning moorland zone. Arrive at Shira II Camp, set at the base of a lava flow, and enjoy luxury camping amenities and dinner while acclimatizing.

Shira II Camp (3,890 m) to Barranco Camp (3,940 m)
Hike approximately 9 km over 6–8 hours through Alpine Desert terrain. Ascend toward Lava Tower (4,600 m) and pause for lunch. Descend along rocky trails for about 2 hours before reaching Barranco Camp. Enjoy luxury camping comforts, dinner, and rest in preparation for the next day’s climb.

Climb the Barranco Wall, pass Karanga Valley, have lunch, and continue to Barafu Camp. This completes the South Circuit, providing stunning views of Kibo and Mawenzi Peaks. Trek 9 km over 8–10 hours through alpine desert terrain. Enjoy a luxurious dinner and rest in preparation for the midnight summit push.

Barafu Camp (4,673 m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) – Descend to Mweka Camp (3,100 m)
Wake around 11:00 PM for tea and snacks. Begin the midnight summit attempt, trekking 5 km over 7–8 hours through steep scree to Stella Point (5,756 m), then continue to Uhuru Peak for sunrise. Spend 10–20 minutes enjoying the view and photos. Descend 12 km over 4–6 hours to Mweka Camp, stopping at Barafu for lunch. Luxury camping amenities are available for your final night on the mountain.
